Print Coverage Light, Medium, or Heavy

Print coverage refers to the amount of red, green, blue, and black color within an image. The less colors, the less ink, and usually, the better looking the final printed output will look.

Light Coverage


Light coverage printing usually means text on a white background or text and a small amount of images on a white background.

Medium Coverage


Medium coverage is typically artwork that has some white, or mostly lighter color backgrounds. This sample would be considered medium to full coverage.

You should probably use our Professional Grade Glossy discs for this type of artwork. This example is considered medium to full coverage printing.

Heavy Coverage


Heavy coverage discs have darker or black backgrounds.

For best color matching and print results, avoid using heavy coverage artwork when possible.

You most definately should use our Professional Grade Glossy discs for this type of artwork.

We may charge between 10¢ and 20¢ extra per disc for very dark background artwork. Our ink cost is between 10¢ and 50¢ per disc.
